SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:

The AI/ML Senior Cloud Architect leads client engagements in the design and build of scalable next-generation cloud architectures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engagement / Relationship Management

  • Lead client engagements and be Trek10’s face to the world
  • Lead a team to navigate complex bureaucratic relationships to bring all stakeholders together around a common product vision and strategy
  • Build relationships with vendors and partners
  • Keep an eye out for opportunities to support our clients in even greater ways

Agile Scrum -> Project Manager

  • Participate in delivery efforts using Agile or other work methodologies
  • Be a technical team advocate, ensuring clear direction and efficient execution
  • Drive more complex projects and contribute to the detailed idea space effectively
  • Own the implementation of stories and other engineering of advanced cloud work for clients

Product Management

  • Lead cross-functional implementation teams to deliver world-class solutions to clients
  • Develop and oversee implementation roadmaps for data modernization, AI/ML pipelines, and cloud-native analytics platforms.
  • Be a customer advocate, prioritize the most compelling features and capabilities and solution fit to customer needs
  • Support sales and marketing with go to market plan and strategy and content to accelerate product/service sales growth
  • Pay attention to market and competitor trends, lead differentiation and value proposition
  • Support cost and price modeling, funding opportunities, and other sales enablement mechanisms relative to your practice/product space
  • Become intimately familiar with your customers, their challenges, needs, and opportunities to deliver world class solutions

Solution Architecture

  • Lead the design and architecture of scalable, secure, and cost-optimized AWS solutions focused on Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML).
  • Engage with clients including presentations, technical decisions, and education opportunities
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demos to C-level executives and technical stakeholders.
  • Engage in early-stage client discussions to understand business goals and translate them into cloud-based technical solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and business development teams in presales activities, including crafting proposals, presenting technical capabilities, and responding to RFPs.

Technical Architect / Lead

  • Lead POCs and MVPs for new data and AI initiatives leveraging AWS-native and third-party tools.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and recommend improvements to ensure reliability, performance, and alignment with AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Lead re-platforming and refactoring efforts for existing systems

Engineering Manager

  • Learn, coach, and share knowledge and skills with other Trek10 team members
  • Prepare work for team members of varying levels of experience, defining stories and task type work
  • Perform code reviews, provide feedback, and pair when beneficial
  • Guide and mentor client and internal engineering teams on architecture best practices, data governance, and MLOps methodologies.

Technical Individual Contributor stuff

  • Evaluate libraries, tools, and services for suitability
  • Contribute to internal IP and open source development
  • Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in multiple frameworks and can break apart projects into independent components at an appropriate level, taking into account different aspects of a stack and know how to build stability and security into them.
  • Help clients get work done smarter with automation and code
  • Provide deep expertise in AWS services such as SageMaker, Redshift, Glue, Bedrock, and S3.

Branding / Marketing

  • Provide thought leadership around scalable next-generation cloud architecture experience and guidance to clients
  • Write cool blog posts, do talks at community events, help us achieve additional certifications in the AWS Partner Community, help our clients solve all sorts of problems

Self-funded Continuing Education

  • Learn, research, and stay up to date on best practices and evolutionary capability in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging AWS services, AI/ML trends, and industry innovations to influence internal capabilities and client roadmaps.

Other duties as assigned

EXPECTATIONS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Up to 30% travel expected to support client engagements, workshops, and presentations (domestic and/or international).
  • Active participation in presales efforts including solutioning, scoping, and contributing to Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Must be proactive and excel at identifying opportunities by seeking out work and engaging with stakeholders across client organizations to uncover areas where Trek10 can deliver meaningful impact.
  • Must be comfortable with executive-level communication and articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, client-facing consulting environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and balance strategic architecture work with tactical implementation guidance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 6 years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software, etc); or 8+ years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software, etc.
  • 8+ years of experience in data-centric cloud architecture, 5+ years of experience with AI/ML, with 3+ years specifically in AWS-based data and ML solutions.
  • Hands-on expertise with data lakes, streaming data, and AI/ML workloads in production environments.
  • Deep familiarity with AWS AI/ML services (SageMaker, Comprehend, Rekognition, Bedrock etc.) and data services (Glue, Athena, Redshift, etc.).
  • Strong background in Python, SQL, and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
  • Experience with MLOps pipelines, CI/CD, model deployment, and monitoring in cloud environments.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps – Professional or equivalent certification strongly preferred in addition to the AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty
  • Able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, including documentation and presentation skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced experience building scalable, automated infrastructure
  • Advanced experience in large-scale enterprise IT environments
  • Advanced experience working in a consultative, client-facing consulting role
  • Advanced experience with Cloud Native patterns with services like AWS Lambda
  • Able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • If working for our Federal Practice area
    • Previous or current experience with Federal / Government stakeholders
    • Intermediate experience with newer ATO strategies such as Fast Track or Continuous ATO
