The Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for ongoing maintenance and improvement of Cloud Infrastructure and security monitoring tools, integration of tools with client accounts, and investigating and resolving issues discovered during monitoring. The Cloud Operations Engineer responds to and executes support tickets for the CloudOps and Internal IT teams while providing support to the rest of the organization on CloudOps and Internal IT conventions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to and execute CloudOps tickets that do not have a standard procedure or require further action after initial standard procedures
  • Respond to urgent and high priority tickets on an on-call basis for both first and second tier response teams
  • Update documentation and improve training processes for Cloud Operations and IT teams
  • Provide overflow support for the internal IT team, performing internal IT support tasks including responding to IT support tickets, hardware inventory, computer management, employee onboarding/offboarding tasks, security patching, and maintaining internal IT systems
  • Establish and manage integrations of client cloud infrastructure into Trek10’s monitoring tools
  • Assess appropriate thresholds and scopes for monitoring tools as it applies to client environments, and configures the tools accordingly
  • Own the creation, updates, and management of monitors for resources and infrastructure in client accounts including creating new monitors for services as they are released, update existing monitors as needed, and assess changes in existing client environments to determine when new additions or adjustments are needed
  • Prepare audit reports for clients based on various security scans, make recommendations based on findings, and present finding to internal teams or directly to the clients
  • Own the process of communicating with the internal development team to ensure the ongoing improvement of Trek10’s tools to ensure Trek10 is providing the most modern service to clients
  • Own the process of updating internal tools to reflect changes of employee responsibilities and ensure the appropriate parties are notified on issues
  • Manage internal documentation of processes and client information, ensuring all information stays up to date
  • Learn and share knowledge and skills with other Trek10 team members
  • Occasional travel may be required to meet stakeholders, kick off new projects, attend conferences, and attend company functions
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software, etc)
  • At least one Amazon Web Services (AWS) certification
  • Understanding of cloud and infrastructure components
  • Experience with code-defined infrastructure, configuration management tools, and CI/CD
  • Experience with AWS related systems and services

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Have an AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification, AWS Cloud Architect Associate, Sysops Associate, or Developers Associate Certification
  • Experience working with 3rd party security tools and ability to detail why it is useful for the org
  • Familiarity with the concept of Agile Project Management or other project management work methodologies
  • Beginner level experience building scalable, automated infrastructure
  • Intermediate level experience with AWS Lambda and “Serverless” systems
  • Beginner level experience working in a consultative, client-facing consulting role
  • Proficient with Google Suite, M365, and related software
  • Linux proficiency certification or similar experience
